One option for residential support through The Pam Dudley Center is Individualized Supported Living or ISL. In this model of providing support, individuals are given the level of care they need which may include up to 24/7 supervision and care.
Individuals share a home with others, not to exceed 4 individuals total, where they rent or purchase the home. The individuals receiving support are given assistance in the managing of their finances to ensure they are able to pay rent, utilities, groceries, and typical living expenses.
The Department of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities Division funds agencies like The Pam Dudley Center to care for individuals in this setting.
In the ISL setting people are expected to do for themselves what they are able to do while receiving assistance in areas of need. These services are individualized upon the identification of these needs.
There are a range of supports offered in this setting.
Meal prep, grocery shopping, financial oversight, medication administration, transportation and assistance with medical appointments, bathing, toileting, dressing, care of the home, transportation to work and community, community outings, etc. This is a list of some of the supports but is not exhaustive.
At The Pam Dudley Center we believe people should be able to create their own lifestyles and live in homes of their own choosing. With the support of family, friends and agencies, they should choose their activities, companions and goals, creating lives that are typical of others in their communities. They participate in their communities and work, with individualized support, toward achieving their personal goals. The Department of Mental Health provides the licensure and oversight for this service.
